Hui Hui Mothersbaugh (pronounced “way way”) is a Los Angeles–based visual designer, illustrator, and creative producer working across entertainment, graphic design, visual development, merchandise, and visual storytelling.
Rooted in color, light, atmosphere, and cinematic storytelling, her work is driven by emotion and the belief that strong visuals can make a story feel alive. Whether developing an illustration, shaping a visual identity, designing for merchandise, or bringing a creative project from concept to production, Hui Hui approaches each project with an artist’s eye and a love for thoughtful, expressive design.
Hui Hui grew up in Los Angeles and studied at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts before earning her BFA in Illustration with a minor in Entrepreneurship from Pratt Institute in New York City. She graduated in 2024 as a recipient of the Pratt Circle Award for highest honors.
Her creative practice is fueled by curiosity, collaboration, and an appreciation for the small details that make people, places, and stories feel special. She is especially drawn to entertainment projects that bring together art, design, music, character, and storytelling.
Outside of the studio, Hui Hui can usually be found drawing, painting, discovering something new, or finding inspiration in the colorful little moments of everyday life.
