The Little Forest Nymph
Visual Development | Character • Story
The Little Forest Nymph explores character design and narrative worldbuilding, reinterpreting the themes of the Little Mermaid through original characters, visual storytelling, and color development.
Ariel is an 18-year-old forest nymph who dreams of finding love beyond the forest ruled by her father, King Triton. Hoping to win the heart of a prince, she makes a dangerous deal with the witch Ursula, trading her immortality and magic for three days as a human. If she fails, she will turn into a tree forever. Ursula later disguises herself in a human form to interfere with Ariel’s plan.

As Ariel tries to make the prince fall in love with her, she befriends a kind stranger who is secretly the prince’s twin brother. When the prince ends up marrying another woman, Ariel believes she has failed. But just before her time runs out, the twin prince reveals his love for her and saves her from her fate.
The story reminds us that love cannot be forced, sometimes it finds you when you least expect it.
